Early access. These guides cover the current product build. Access and connected-channel availability depend on your organization's setup. Public Instagram messaging access is not available yet.
Campaigns & Signups
“I invite people who reply to my story, then collect their signup with a keyword or email address. I can review invitations and completed signups in one place.”
Prepare a campaign
Open Campaigns in a workspace where this feature is available. Create a campaign and select one connected Instagram channel. Choose the invitation keywords and whether they should match replies to any story or one specific story. For a specific story, use its Instagram story ID, not a link.
Write the invitation that people should receive. Then choose how they complete their signup: a later reply matching your confirmation keyword, or a later reply with an email address. Make that next step clear in the invitation.
For example: “Thanks for your interest! Reply JOIN to confirm your signup.” Use JOIN as the confirmation keyword. The initial story reply starts the invitation; it does not also complete the signup.
Save the campaign as an inactive Play and review its channel, keywords and message before enabling it. Saving a draft does not send an invitation. Your workspace must allow story campaigns and incoming-message recording before an active campaign can respond. Normal reply limits and safety checks still apply.
What counts as a story reply
The incoming Instagram event must identify a reply to a story. An ordinary DM, story mention or shared link is not enough, even if it contains the same keyword. The connected channel must receive the relevant events for the campaign to work. Creating a campaign does not change the channel's connection or webhook routing.
Read signup results
The signup waits for a separate reply after the messaging provider acknowledges the invitation. Provider acknowledgement is not proof that someone read it. Duplicate event deliveries do not create another signup. A conversation already waiting for another contact detail or signup does not start a second collection.
Campaign results show the recorded invitation and completion state. A waiting signup may expire or become unavailable if its channel or campaign permissions change. Check the saved result before trying again when an invitation's outcome is unclear.
Use distinct invitation keywords if another DM Play already uses them. Existing DM reply rules keep their priority. If several campaigns match the same reply, the system will not guess which invitation to send.
A completed signup confirms that the expected reply was recorded. It does not verify that the person follows your account. An email reply does not verify ownership of that address or grant permission to send marketing email.
